There is no option to turn off two-factor authentication, and I can't delete or change my phone number. (lemmy.world)

Is there an option to add an authenticator instead first, then delete the phone number?

I tried doing that, but it didn't work. I've had an authentication code set up in Google Authenticator for a long time, but I can't receive the security code because it's not set up with my old phone number. Perhaps there's a sync issue on their end or something similar.

Also, I can’t currently delete my old phone number or turn off two-factor authentication in the Meta Account Center, so I’m stuck.

Let me hear your ideas on how to help me out.
