Freshwater snails carry a parasitic disease called schistosomiasis, which infects nearly 250 million people, mostly in Asia, Africa and South America. Mostly due to us fucking with natural water flow with dams and rice paddies and such, which stops their predators from controlling the snail populations.

Wish there was some way to account for exposure to each of these creatures. Like, some sort off probability of dying per hour with each creature or something...
