In the basement today we have quite a rare machine (for North America:) The BBC Master 128. It's an evolution of the original Acorn BBC Micro from 1981. My first task is to service the PSU and convert it to 120v, then see if this machine is working.

Got my first programming experience on the BBC Micro at school! (We never had anything as fancy as a Master though). Those heavy cube monitors and the "beep-boop" startup sound are iconic.

You are probably already aware, but in case not: by far the best modern resource and community around the BBC micro is stardot.org.uk. Had a quick search and there is a wealth of knowledge on this exact topic. https://stardot.org.uk/forums/search.php?keywords=Master+us+120v&fid%5B0%5D=3

Have fun! The BBC is close to my heart and I will love it forever.

I once bought a second hand BBC B for my kids. Unpacked it after they were asleep and then started trying to understand it. Next time I looked up the rising sun was coming through the kitchen window...
