I'm new on OpenSUSE as well, so my answer might not be good. But i think flatpak is pre-installed and another source for a lot apps, like FluffyChat and Element.
openSUSE
openSUSE is an open, free and secure operating system for PC, laptops, servers and ARM devices. Managing your emails, browsing the web, watching online streams, playing games, serving websites or doing office work never felt this empowering. And best part? It's not only backed by one of the leaders in open source industry, but also driven by lively community.
fluffychat only has official flatpak versions for Linux. install flatpak and search there or get it on flathub.
element has no official package for opensuse, but does have experimental and community packages. you can get the repository info from their website.
I prefer to install applications as flatpaks, using flathub via the included Discover application.
I pretty much only use zypper when I need to install a dependency for development work
