I've got a mediatek WiFi router that runs openwrt pretty well, lol thats all I can think of though.

It is advertised as AC1900, but the internal hardware is capable of AC2600 speeds and is able to operate at full 4×4:4 speeds with OpenWRT.
They have that reputation yes, but I hear they're turning a new page especially for GNU/Linux
