It's nice to see that terms like the truth is no longer reserved just for religious fundamentalists.
"Quotes"
Say things that aren't your words.
Just a reminder that Tyson was accused of sexual misconduct by four women.
But did not face criminal charges.
I dont know if he would have deserved those charges or not, but my opinion is that, if the dude was not found quilty, we should not hang the charges over every aspect of his life.
Its not zero sum game. His opinions can be valid even if i would not want my friends to go and have cheese and wine with him in his apartment.
I've found in my personal life that if multiple people accuse a guy, he's usually a piece of crap that's gotten away with much more than he's ever going to face consequences for. And who defends them is a great barometer for who I want to spend less time around.
This kind of situation happens so often that there's a term for it: the missing stair. There's a reason things like whisper networks exist. You don't need to defend sex pests; they're already safe enough from consequences.
Plus Tyson is annoying, pedantic, and arrogant and sticks his nose into things he really shouldn't, like how mass shootings aren't a big deal or how philosophy is useless.
But hey, if you want to admire quotes from him, you go right ahead.
There are two cynics living inside me. One agrees with you that if multible people accuse somebody from the same thing there must be some truth to it and they got away free.
Another cynic inside me says that when one person starts to accuse minor celebrity about something and there are soon multible person saying the same without concrete evidence, it just might be people trying to get their 15 minutes and some money.
Either one can be true or some compination of both. I cant be sure. You cant be sure. Even the legal system cant be sure what is the truth. So any conclusion we make about him are just opinions and i personally dont want to judge whole persons character just because "i feel like they are quilty". Especially if the desition comes from such a deep place that "they are annoying, pedantic and arrogant"
His quote is accurate and descriptive, or do you not agree with that?
Me not liking him is separate from him being a sex pest. If I really enjoyed his commentary on things, he'd still be accused by several women of misconduct.
Do you have any women in your life that you'd be willing to bring this topic up with?
His quote literally says "I dream". It's accurate in the sense that it is his thinking. His truth means nothing out of context. It could mean that people are overreacting to mass shootings.. So, no, I don't think his world view is anywhere near accurate or deep or intellectual. He's just saying his views are the truth and if you disagree you've been influenced by politicians. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of morons that get their info from politicians, but Tyson is also an influencer. He's not outside of the political realm like he's pretending to be.
Really? You disliking the man you call "sex pest" does not effect your opinion? If you know something that the prosecutor did not know, please go to cops. Otherwise its just your opinion and it matters like fart in the wind.
Do you have any media literacy skills? In the tweet he is not belitteling massshootings. He is bringing up flaws in our system where for example hundreds of people die because of malpractice, but there are nowhere near the same amount of media coverage about that. Do you think life ended by gun shot is somehow more valuable than life ended by giving wrong dosage?
His quote literally says "I dream". It's accurate in the sense that it is his thinking.
Do you feel this way about the MLK jr's speech too?
And why you are asking about women in my life? Are you lonely? Are you looking for a date company? This is not the platform for that.
