So 2 weeks ago I made a random post in bsky about Kit (the new Mascot) and I today I got DM'd by FireFox saying that they wanted to gift me a $50 USD coupon code for their store?? Don't feel comfortable sharing the DMs buut I made another post in bsky ab what I ended up getting if you want to see

So ig my question is... Has this happened to any of you?? Is FireFox known for doing this sort of stuff??? Or for some reason they really liked my post lol

Are you sure it’s legit? I have no basis for my opinion, but my gut urges caution.

I was scared too, but I verified it was actually the verified FireFox account DMing me, and although I didn't check the store very well (I was very excited, very bad mistake I know), it all seemed legit. I remember before I got gifted the coupon, I thought: There's a Mozilla store? So I searched it online and then verified that it was the same link they sent me (still did it though a search engine just in case, and the coupon worked as intended).

I don't know what else I could've done to verify it, but I'd like to be optimistic, specially since it's such a random event lol (Even if I did end up getting scammed, I only lost like 10 usd lol)

EDIT: FireFox just liked my last post about the purchase, so unless they were hacked, it's legit!

I'm also generally skeptical, but the fact that it's a coupon code and a token amount makes me think it's legit. You shouldn't need to give up any personal info to redeem a coupon.

If it's from the firefox account, I don't see why it should be a scam.

A giftcard for their own store is something very cheap to hand out for a raffle and is done quite regularly.

And as long as you used the official store, I don't see any problem with it
