Because they paid the legislators offering the tax break and also play off states competing for the glorious opportunity to create very short term economic stimulation via building it. All to continue to propagate Zucks ability to rot our brains.

Facebook is dying and now they’re continuing it off platform. While tanking their local housing markets. Property tax revenue goes with it.

Tax breaks for businesses are (supposed to be) given because the increased employment brings more money spread throughout the region. Data centers don't need enough staff to support the tax breaks being given.
