too bad lotteries are typically a tax on people that can't do math

Yep, anyone who buys more than one of these jackpot tickets is a fool. Full stop. Doesn't matter if it's an office pool, you doesnot meaningfully increase your odds by buying a hundred tickets vs one.

Only those who wait to buy exactly one ticket once there is a +ev, understands the game.

Some people enjoy the whimsy it brings.

Sometimes I buy a ticket and spend so e time imagining what it would be like to win.

Usually I just buy scratchers because my partner likes them, and that’s really like 3 times a year.

Just because the odds are worse than being struck by lightning, doesn't mean you can't buy a ticket every once in awhile and have a little fun. Gotta be in it to win it!

Dude what is your thought process when you post these regular memes into this community?

"I like this meme, i must post it into the only meme comm i know"

I'm sympathetic but this article has 100+ upvotes right now so the community clearly feels it is appropriate enough?

People voted up because it's funny. That doesn't change the fact that op is treating me irl as a random meme dumping ground.

Popularity does not make something right.
