If there are cameras it should be easy to apply credits to days we don't put bins out like vacations, right?

Riiiiight?

Waste Management tried that same shit on me.

Someone put stuff in my bin after I put it out. They tried to give me a strike.

The next door neighbor bin was overfilled. They tried giving me a strike.

Their AI camera thought it saw something in my bin. They tried giving me a strike.

Each time I contacted them to formally contest the accusation. They said there’s no way to contest these. I said if there’s a penalty, I have a right to due process and contacted my city council.

The garbage company stopped harassing me with BS warnings.

Another excuse to extract money from residents through technology.

Fuck technology.

I regret working in any of it.

I'm surprised they weren't already doing this, as it's pretty commonplace around the world. It makes sense that people that overfull their bins should pay for a larger bin, as otherwise the people that don't overfill their bin are essentially subsidizing them.
