So can a balanced diet and exercise, but that's boring and takes work and dedication. Weight loss should be a side effect not a goal in and of itself.
Some people need to lose weight to avoid potential health issues, or they just want to for personal reasons, like to improve performance in recreational sports.
Yes ideally people would just enjoy exercise and eating healthy and lose weight in the process but some people need to do things in stages- first lose weight and then enjoy horseback riding or whatever.
Of course there are legitimate medical reasons but my understanding of these weight loss drugs like GLP-1's is that they are being treated as if they're a new "fad diet" to lose weight for swimsuit season or something.
