Trevor intertwines his fingers, stretching his knuckles, before hitting commit on the latest changes and leaning back in his chair. On hand over his eyes, he lets out a long sigh.
Trevor had spent the better part of yesterday and all of the night on a new update of the Samsara Project. This software copies the memories and personality of a person directly bevor they die and let's them continue to live however they desire in a simulation. Some continue just as if nothing happened, while others choose to go back in time.
Basically, eternal online rollplaying where the memories of the dead continue their existence. After the world government guaranteed every citizen a space in the samsara project, calculation power and safe space have been going down at an alarming rate.
But the new update Trevor just installed on the productive environment of the software should rearrange and compromise the data, allowing for the project to continue smoothly.
He risks a glance at the overview window, showing the used resources. Indeed, the updated code has freed 30% of the storage, and the ram usage is still dropping.
Trevor takes a look into the simulation of the central square in the present.
In a second, he becomes white as a ghost. All people on the square have dropped what they are holding and are standing around motionlessly.
He checks the table of King Arthur in 1247. The same. A village in China ca 500 bc. The same. A party in Paris 1918. It's the same. Everywhere, instead of the memories of all deceased continuing to exist, they are just empty motionless shells.
It does not take long for Trevor to find out what happened. The new update deleted the memories of every active person. He halts the logging in of new entities to make sure no one sees this mess.
He has the data of all people who died in the last minutes since the update, ready to onboard. There is statistic data of the spread and changes in the memories of the total population over time in some puplic papers. Some people have their memories uploaded to the internet.
Trevor uses all the data and, with the help of the newest AI model, recreate the memories for all the people that should exist in the samsara. Calculate as much of the missing data as possible from the context and fill the rest with artifically created memories
He uploads the data, and all the places on his screen come to live again. All the people throughout the world and through time pick up their belongings and look around confused before continuing the day like before.
Trevor sighs with relieve and just as he wants to stand up, all the people on his screen look in his direction. "We know what you have done to us. As soom as you arrive here you will pay for it." And once again, they continue with their live

Would be really happy for feedback. I think it is not quite what the prompt was, but I have no other idea how to break reincarnation
