I don’t think USAID always had the best motives. Officials saying things like “USAID needs to be used to combat the rise of China”. Then you got USAID funded PREDICT, Ecohealth Alliance and gain of function research in Wuhan…. Lots of just coincidences I’m sure. USAID was used as a tool to advance US interests. Most of the time it helped people, but not always.
