On lemmy.world, this is a link to a post and works. Piefed tries to make it a video link which does not.

(unrelated, but to try to find this community, I clicked the magnifying-glass-looking thing to search and it just yelled at me that I couldn't search for a community in the wrong format. If I don't know where a community lives or its exact name, how is that even useful?)

I didn't know about Youtube posts (as opposed to videos), thanks!

Big improvements to the search tool coming in the next PieFed version, out in a few weeks.

Thanks for the quick response.

I see no video playback either way. TIL that YouTube apparently now offers "posts" without any videos in them? The PieFed link is definitely wrong in that case as it tries to connect to and play something that is not there.

Community searching for either Meta or PieFed on nord.pub works for me, using the standard web UI. You may want to provide additional details such as your method of access, and if some third-party app then check the community for it to see if this is a known issue (use a browser community search in the meantime since that is definitely working there even if in your app it is not).

Yep. I'm not sure when it started.

Firefox on a PC. Top-right-ish, click on the magnifying glass search thingy. Click on the textbox under 'community'. Type meta. Get error please match the requested format.

Gotcha, yeah that looks to be something with how your instance has not set up communities properly yet. Bc if instead of searching there you click All communities and search there, it works. Hopefully as Rimu mentioned the newest upcoming update may fix all that!:-)
