I'm happy to take them all

Instead, let's send all of our one nation voters to the US to make room for these guys (since they actually want trump anyway and are unhappy with Australia).

We had a Cambodian refugee join our hiking group once, and they were actually really interesting. Apparently they had to walk for weeks to cross the border

"The whole road was blood and martyrs and body parts, severed heads, severed hands," she tells SBS News of the aftermath of Israel's bombardment during the daytime truce.

This. This is why Israel is a barbaric and criminal State. Thats not fighting 'war' thats murder, torture and more. And too many Australians have supported and continue supporting these Israeli exteremist zealots committing these depraved acts. Everytime I read aomething like this I am ashamed of our willing complicity, and inability to stand up for our so called human values.

How long before Palestinians and the media understand that declaring people as martyrs wins them zero sympathy?

The word martyr has very specific and negative religious connotations.

Anyone using this language is likely a threat to secular society and government.

former prime minister John Howard — long associated with a hardline stance on immigration and border control

Howard was the one to open the floodgates for immigration to Australia. Any other view of his policies is entirely revisionist.

Several rights groups, including RCOA, are urging for the 2014 ban to be lifted, so refugees stranded in Indonesia

How about they campaign for Indonesia to accept refugees. The majority of refugees are Muslim and Indonesia is primarily Muslim.

Australia should look at measures to force Indonesia to do its fair share accepting refugees.

I'm a little BIased. But I feel we have enough home grown religious bigots and homophobes without importing yet more with intolerant attitudes.

Everyone is welcome.

Australian values first

If Angus Taylor wants Australian values heres one from later in the article,

"We should be doing everything we can as a country to find ways to grow this lifeline at a time of unprecedented need," she says.

If you don't like Australian Values Angus, 'gO bAcK To whERe yoU CaME froM!' 🚢
