The most interesting thing about this is the fact that they couldn’t get threads.com so had to settle for threads.net. I’m not bashing .net domains but they are often seen as less important than .com

I refuse to use any services owned by Meta (fka Facebook).

The value comes from the users. The market for this seems saturated already, do you think the users will come?

I think what Twitter has become is much more than micro-blogging at this point, it has become a thing of itself, something Mastodon isn't going to copy. Elon is terrible at managing this platform, while people including me dislike Facebook for what it is, I think they will do a much better job to make Threads a much more viable option for the general public if they are able to copy Twitter's secret source.
