"So here I was, minding my own business whilst trying to demonize entire racial groups, when someone responded to my calls for genocide by blasting me in my stupid fucking face. Police, help!"

-this guy and every other right-wing choad that deserves to get their nose broke

As a crowd gathered behind him, he said: ‘All of you who throw water are cowards. You don’t actually want to fight for what you believe in.’

One responded: ‘I’ll fight you, b****’, before telling Moffitt to get a job. He said he had one, but was fired from McDonald’s for his political views.

That was when he was kicked to the floor before his phone was smashed and his camera and banner were stolen.

Footage posted on social media shows the group continued to attack him as he tried to retrieve his belongings and ends up in the foetal position to protect himself.

His phone was smashed and some of his equipment was stolen in the assault

Eventually, a Black man he had been debating with steps in to protect him.

I generally don't condone violence, and I would have preferred it if the crowd had simply ignored this tosser to deny him the platform he craves, but the details of this story make it too fucking funny.

Nah, these people, MAGAs, for lack of a better term, are the last acceptable targets for bullies. They would gladly do far worse to those they hate than just the beating he took. They would happily kill billions across the planet.

So fuck with them relentlessly, and if they get clobbered for it, don't offer them any empathy at all. They don't give it, they don't get it. This is the system THEY choose, so make them live in it.

I stand by this. Collective action means swift and sudden intervention by means of violence when all other avenues have been walked already. Not because I condone violence, not at all do I like people hurting themselves and others. It's because they condone violence, that I'm such cases the best defense is a good offense.

I fully understand you on that. As a society, we SHOULD, be better than that. At the same time we are forced to operate at the level of the lowest common denominator. The reason truthfulness and honor matter to us, is that we know where it goes when it fails. When our opponents both abandon those, and have too much sway to be ignored, we must operate on their level.

We shouldn't take too much enjoyment from it, but it needs to be done. The British veneer of civility has always been that, a veneer. It's a mutual agreement to keep things from getting nasty. The hard right has very much broken that agreement already. They need to be reminded why the agreement has held for so long.

Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences.

He regularly holds ‘Change my mind’ stands on abortion, transgenderism and migration.

He claims: ‘We’ve had bottles of urine chucked at us, glue chucked at us, cans of beans chucked in my face.

Brought a smile to my weary face that did.

[–] itsjustachairmary@lemmy.world 5 points 19 hours ago

These are beans. Beans for my family.

Having a bottle of piss thrown at me would change my mind, at least about spouting inflammatory things in person, in public.

[–] SethTaylor@lemmy.world 5 points 21 hours ago

Maybe he took it as a compliment? In his mouth?

Why do these fuckers always look like they swim the shallow end of the gene pool?

If a person has ugly thoughts, it begins to show on the face. And when that person has ugly thoughts every day, every week, every year, the face gets uglier and uglier until you can hardly bear to look at it.

A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.

It's too bad that's not true. Jeffrey Epstein, for example, was a relatively good-looking guy.
