I can relate with you so much! My SO and me are trying to show our 3-year-old as much affection as possible either by telling him we love him or by hugging, cuddling etc.

For some time now he's been giving back big time by running up to us when we meet (coming back from work), telling us he loves us, hugging, cuddling. It's an amazing feeling especially because he recently had a phase where he was very uninterested in us. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I did the same and you’re doing great. As he gets older he will challenge you. Never withhold love, even if he’s wrong or makes a mistake. One day he’s going to screw up and know it. When he instinctively comes to you for a hug and reassurance that you love him, no matter what, even if he’s in trouble. That feeling just can’t be beat.

That's awesome, man! I love it when my toddler shows me and the wife affection back. It feels so affirming.
