The reason ”InFlUeNcErS” are being targeted is because they are disruptive to the incumbent advertising industry, which is so regressive that they would die without revenue from the Gambling industry.

The political parties are answerable to business groups and (in the case of Labor) unions groups.

“Independent” gig-economy workers like Influencers are not in any business groups or unions and by their nature, don’t have any “local” political clout. They do have an audience of voters, though.

They are also dominated by the dogs they are fleas on; the platform owners and ThE aLgOrYtHm, which once again, political parties have no control over.

Is because they are essentially unregulated. They are only 'disruptive' in the sense that they can get away with shit that the industry cannot by rule of law. Don't try and frame this as Yet Another Way The Shadowy Cabal Keeps The Common Man Down.
