I think most Californian voters would prefer Ranked Choice Voting. I would prefer RCV and think we should jump straight to that option. But if I had to choose between the current system, and going back to having political party primaries, I would prefer to vote in a CA state Democratic primary over a jungle primary.

New York has RCV & Primaries, this seems to be the best case scenario, first the voters for each party get to choose who best represents them, then parties (including theirs parties and individuals) get a fair shot in the general.
