This was entertaining. A chess app had been the only game on my phone; this game is a fun spin on what I had been doing.

Keep it civil and keep it chill!
I've been playing it. First run was awful and I had no chance against the overpowered queen at the end of the act. Might have quit the game but decided to try again.
Second run I figured out that training grounds are awesome for getting new units. Pretty important early on. Also, getting a Prince (stops the king from being targeted if the Prince is within 3 tiles of it) was great because that overpowered queen couldn't put my king in constant check. Also lowering the computer difficulty from 100% might have helped a bit.
I'm the type of person who likes progression in my games. So having nothing to unlock after a successful run is kinda sad.
Sounds like classic roguelike behaviour to me, starts off insanely difficult but the thing you unlock is the knowledge of how the game works and how to beat the hard parts
Haha yeah. I realized that only after I started getting better at it.
