It's your instance, not Jerboa

[-] Nemo@midwest.social 4 points 1 year ago

Yup, when this happens I just switch instances and keep going.

Is it the Lemmy servers getting hammered, with all the new activity, or something?

[-] sabriy01@lemmy.world 35 points 1 year ago

yes this problem is not about jerboa app. It's Lemmy's network problem..

Actually it might be Jeroba.

I'm using Thunder and it's swift. Even Liftoff is decent.

But Jeroba is laggy and often shows error

I had issues for a while as well. But it's working fine now! In the meantime I used connect. Also fine!

I used the website, since it's capable enough as a responsive web app. Now back with Jerboa again.

Had no problems since yesterday. Before that it was a regular occurence

Everything is working exceptionally smooth for me on lemmy.ml since yesterday. It was just like in the meme in the days before tho.

Try looking for a smaller server that isn't getting hammered as much?

I kept on seeing that so frequently it became annoying. Later, I discovered it stopped when I started to use cloudflare dns with their playstore app. So, I think it must be rate limiting from lemmy.ml itself or some weird dns issue from my service provider.

I was getting this issue when viewing comments , so I was waiting and waiting for the new release to hit F-droid to see if it was fixed. As of now the new version still isn't on Fdroid so I got fed up and installed obtainium to download always the latest version from GitHub and now Jerboa works fine. I highly recommend doing this.

With jerboa 0.37 had the same issue. Unistalled it and reinstalled the 0.36 and it works fine ;)

I've had better luck with the Connect app

[-] ilickfrogs@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago

Same, I've switched to it for the time being. All these apps suck in their own way for the time being. It's so exciting waking up to fresh updates every other day though. I've got them all installed and rotate between them.

Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.
