Shave the sides.

You can leave a stripe down the back, fading as you go down for a mohawk, or shave the back too if you're worried about it growing mullety.

I think what you've got but styled more would look good. Kinda like Sam from Supernatural. When your hair is towel-dry, style it. Part it with a comb on top near the side, just above the outer edge of your eye. Comb it out straight. Rub a quarter-sized dollop of medium-hold hair gel or styling cream into your palms and finger-comb your hair with your hands, so you spread the gel throughout your hair but don't actually get big clumps. The goal with the styling product is to tame flyaways and keep volume, not to slick it back. Check the part again and fix it with the comb if it's messed up.

Keep the back trimmed up to your neck so it's never longer than the front or sides.

You look like Tom Holland. Look at some of his hairstyles and do that.
