I have always thought it would be a good idea to have a weekly post where learners of all levels, heritage and native speakers can post the Chinese content they have been consuming this week in whatever form. If people also give an indication of their level as well it can act as a way for people to discover new content which may be suitable for them.

I'll start:

Reading - I am just finishing 新参者, a Japanese murder mystery with a good Mandarin translation. Recommended for people who like traditional mysteries and who have a few Chinese novels under their belt already.

Watching: I just finished 漫长的季节 and highly reccomend it. Certainly one of the best Chinese shows I've watched and also just generally one of the best shows I've watched so far this year. Advanced/upper intermediate learners should be able to watch this one with Chinese subs.

Playing: Honkai Star Rail - I don't usually play mobile games, but I really like this. Lots of original Mandarin voiced dialogue, and it's an RPG in a space opera setting. I'd say advanced learners only for this one, but other learners may still get a lot out of it with English subs and Chinese audio.

Well, it's almost the next weekend but I can add a little something here anyway.

While randomly searching around on Youtube I found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3hh5ySu3YI
It's basically a long, detailed description of a book called 狐狸的电话停. The summary/description is probably more advanced than the actual book (it's a children's book). I think this is a complete reading of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Be4WiPU-L0

But oh man, from the description in the first video I don't think my heart could take listening to the book itself. I didn't dare to listen to more than a couple minutes.

The good news though is that the same channel seems to have a lot of videos of the same lady reading books (children's books, I presume). Here's one that that won't leave your heart battered and beaten: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFjexEnqNeg (actually pretty funny!)

I've been learning a little bit more than a year. Actually, I think it's just a few days shy of 13 months currently. I've been teaching myself using online resources/mobile apps so probably someone reasonably dedicated (or who has been learning with a teacher for a shorter time?) could probably enjoy this content. What would you call this level, maybe early intermediate?
