I had better result by leaving it in water first. Then once the roots start developing I put it in the ground.

I did the same thing (popped top off supermarket pineapple and planted it). The plant grew and looks super healthy. After about 2 years, I got a pineapple about 1 inch tall! Lol. Yours looks great!

this is the second one I’ve gotten from this plant! It’s been in the ground 3-4 years. The current one popped up over 6 months ago.
