Hey everyone, super excited to be exploring the fediverse both here on kbin and elsewhere. Looking for a Mastodon client primarily for iOS, great to see the main app is open-source, but there seems to be quite a few options out there. Feel free to share non-iOS clients for others' benefit as well.

I prefer FOSS apps both because open and because money, but please share any positive experience with whatever you use! Sad to see Metatext seems to have stopped development as that was my first instinct. Thanks!

Right now I'm using the official app, but this thread has definitely given me a lot of other ones to check out.

Does anything other than Phanpy have boost carousel? That is amazing

I use Ice Cubes normally and Phanpy when I want to just skim boosts

Was using Ivory, but you can't disable haptics. I HATE haptics inside of apps like that so that's an instant uninstall. Moved over to Mona and been very happy there.

Ivory, (Going to check out Mona now) and just checked out phanpy. It's pretty great, i like the way the multi-column layout works, I found it more intuitive than mastodons native web client. I wish in the multi-column I could add a box for posting instead of the feather icon in the corner.....unless you can and I haven't figured out how.

I’ve heard a few namely Ivory, Mona, Mammoth, Ice Cube, Trunks, couple others…. I used Ivory for a while but switched to Mona when they started supporting following other servers. They seem to roll out features faster than Ivory. I really like the feel of both apps but I personally use Mona. I had already bought Spring before so I got a discount buying pro.

EDIT: I forgot to include phanpy! It’s a web client but I added it to my Home Screen as a web app. I really like how all the threads are displayed on there. I use this sometimes when not using Mona. Phanpy makes it easier to get through threads and boosts on my home feed

@Arthur Megalodon is the best I've tried so far. I'm also using the kbin.social on the web for now until they have their own app released. Really excited for it's release. I just hope we don't have to wait too long for it!

I'm using the WebApp of elk.zone and I really like it. I've also tried Moshidon, Tusky, Fedilab and koyu.space.

My favorites are Moshidon and Elk

I really like megalodon, elk.zone and phanpy is another really nice front end that focuses on removing clutter.

@TruthButtCharioteer I just checked out Phanphy per this post and really like it. It feels snappy and looks good. Using it as an app on my iPhone now, too. I don't check Mastodon enough to justify $2/mo for Ivory, but if one does it's another great app.
