Better this than the millions of bots on reddit. Also no worries about commercialization on Lemmy, so long as we support the servers we're good forevermore.

It's honestly pretty stable at this point. There's only maybe one or two bugs left but it's very usable. I've enjoyed the conversations I've had on here too.

It’s great if you’re looking for an echo chamber, but if your opinion is slightly different, you’re ostracized.

I mean I guess that’s just the internet nowadays, but lemmy isn’t any different.

I don’t know if I would use the word ostracized, but there but there sure are a whole bunch of slapfights, and remarkably little moderation (in both senses of the word).

Not having a centralized point system or autohiding means people are a lot more willing to be real, rather than trying to play to the crowd.
