Disappointing, but not surprising. If you want to know why I quit the federation, this is why. The complete lack of accountability combined with abusive moderation is beyond toxic. No normal person is going to join a system like that.

I have downloaded my archive but have zero desire to ever return to mastodon.

Romani. (lemmy.ml)
submitted 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) by Omega_Haxors@lemmy.ml to c/shitposting@lemmygrad.ml

transcriptAn edited conservative cartoon with the bottom two panels cut out and with extremely low quality. The first person has the man saying "All Americans are racist" which causes the lady to respond with "I'm European" The quality of the image drops even further and becomes deep fried in the second panel as the man responds "Romani" and the lady's eye twitches. In the original comic the lady explodes and the man responds with "works every time" however this is omitted from this version for increased irony.

The joke is that Europeans don't think that they're racist because they don't hate the same people Americans do, but when they are reminded of a people they do hate, they instantly turn into nazis about it.

Being on Lemmy has made me realize that not having to constantly deal with nazis on your instance kind of rocks and I want that same experience on the rest of the federation.

I'm currently on mastodon.social and matrix.org and have had my problems with both but don't know where a good place to move would be. Help me find a better place to set up on the federation. This thread was spurred by https://lemmy.ml/post/13634062 but really it's been a problem i've been having for awhile now and would like to take preventative actions before liberalism starts to become hardcore nazified.

I've sent in my appeal and i'm sure the removal will be quickly reversed, it's still very extremely disturbing such a thing could happen.

I used to play in a lot of minecraft communities centered around modding. I would play pack after pack after pack all in multiplayer until the next one came. Eventually, I started to become dissatisfied with the lack of quality of some packs (so called 'kitchen sink' packs where people just dump in whatever mods they kind of like with no rhyme or reason) so I worked on my own 1.7.10 pack around a core theme. Before I could finish, I had to quit due to the place getting increasingly fascist, which left me basically orphaned. I worked on and off of it and about a year and a half later, the pack was in a more-or-less complete state.

I had a few friends playtest it and found a lot of little issues which I later tackled with patches, and now it's matured to a point where I was ready to release a part 2. Only issue though, is that interest in the series has completely dropped off and nobody is really all that into playing anymore. So this is where you come in!

This is the first public release of the pack. I'm hoping that I can get some people here to try it out and give feedback on how to make it even better. If even one person enjoys it to its end than I will consider all my effort over the years well worth it, but i'm hoping it can become the long-lasting pack it was created to be.

Summary: Balanced EMC economy, space/science theming, custom mob spawning and combat, no damage invincibility, craftable enchants, nearly limitless depth, realistic electricity simulator, designed with multiplayer in mind, zero-to-god, actively updated, disable hunger

Here is the download. Please read the README file https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqIwFSfZlFJbkTiNsCJvLyTWzOYh

If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them here, and if you have any feedback I will do my best to address it. Please also show off any builds or progress you've made as well, I would love to see it!

This tab works like Subscribed only in reverse; it only shows stuff from comms you're not subscribed to. Perfect for finding new content to subscribe to without needing to sift through All.

Kind of like how you can do [in-line links](to link people to a website), allow the user to use the same syntax to create contextual information that appears when the [user mouses over](Similar to alt-text on an image). This way users who know the context won't have to slog through a tedious wall of text while those who don't can optionally bring themselves up to speed. For clarity sake in-line context will be a different color to a link, and those on mobile (or desktop) can click it to expand out the contained text as if it was part of the original comment.

EDIT: it might be a good idea to potentially use different syntax so that you can link websites within in-line context.

alt-textPatchy the pirate: That's it? That was the [Solar] Power?

That was just [Light Emitting Diodes]

Context: The meme is a play on the version where patchy the pirate complains about steam power just being boiling water, which is itself a play on Patchy being disappointed at the SpongeBob lost episode just being 'cheap walk cycles'

Solar panels work through reversing the process in which LEDs produce light, quite literally being made from special LED designed to work in reverse. All diodes can do this to an extent, but solar panel LEDs are especially good at it.

Mastodon Plays Pokemon (mastodon.social)
submitted 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) by Omega_Haxors@lemmy.ml to c/pokemon@lemmy.ml

Every 1 hour the bot takes the previous top voted action and performs it then pastes the screen and begins the next vote in an "exhilarating 1 frame per hour" playthrough of Pokemon Gold. You get pinged when the vote ends. If nothing is voted on, it picks at random.

So far Mastodon named themselves FRY, attempted to pull an item out of the PC but instead exited the menu and went downstairs.

They're called enameled cables, they've got a thin layer of insulation which prevents them from rusting or shorting.

The stereotype of pedophiles using the dark web is absolutely true. I hosted an exit node and not even a day later got a call from my ISP. I told them I was hosting an exit node and they instantly understood the situation, went to close the node and have never hosted another one since.

What Israel is doing to Palestine today is exactly what America did and is doing to their indigenous population. Why do you think they're allies?

UBI is kind of cool but it has some massive flaws. For example: Landlords and groceries can just raise prices to bring the cost of living up and since there are no rent/price controls (because "that would be communism") we'll be right back to where we started. What you want is Universal Basic Services. Anything you need to live is free. Literally impossible for anyone to game that system and equally impossible for people to slip through the gaps, but it's also never going to happen because "that would be communism"

So yeah this is why capitalism has go to, because any attempt at actually making a just and fair society will be dismissed as "being communism"

Any bird who lives primarily in the water is dumb as shit. They have unlimited protection above and around them, so they have zero adaptive pressure to put anything into their intelligence. Land birds have a lot to worry about so their brains are approaching human levels of intellect.

Socialized system vs capitalized system: The capitalist comes in and uses their venture capital to undercut the socialized system so that people stop using it. Once the socialized system loses interest and funding or are otherwise out of the picture, they they jack their prices up way higher than the original and because they're the only game in town, they get to keep those record profits in effective perpetuity.
