It was created from scratch by SDF user laemeur who is a graphic artist/illustrator. We made stickers based off this design that are available in the https://sdf.org/?store
By the way: was "SDF" chosen after the Macross series? or did the logo idea come to mind after noticing the identical acronyms?
Edit: I found it in the FAQ:
The system was run as a Japanese Anime SIG and was known as the SDF-1.
Looking more closely here, the mashup design of SDF-1 Macross and what I believe to be a vt52 terminal is really well done. Kudos to laemeur.
Ever think about selling this design as a t-shirt also? I would buy one.
Thanks for the info! I'll make sure to buy some โ and a mug :)
I had a similar reaction. "Super Dimension Fortress? I'm home!" Definitely need to get in on merch sporting that logo. :)
Alright, and I'll also rewatch the Harmony Gold remake series :)
That's the spirit!
Same :) Not a SDF member but grinning inside every time I see the logo ๐ค
I actually noticed that right away too, and it instantly made me fall in love with the service more than I already did, The connection to Macross just makes it even more special for me.
OK, just for nostalgia (@synthubus@lemmy.sdf.org)
