Visually similar are so difficult when you're beginning! My only effective solution has been to learn how to actually write characters, so that I more clearly distinguish them when I see them, because I'm combining visual with kinesthetic).
Still not super easy, though. Especially when it's just the radical that's different (e.g. 银 vs 很, 难 vs 谁, etc).

This is a great resource for practising those tricky characters, thank you!
