I can’t tell you how many articles I’ve read lately that can just be summed up as “late-stage capitalism”. This is the death throes of the nation.
I’m someone who vastly prefers to work in an office. It’s kind of a pain in the ass dealing with remote workers, meetings having gone to teams instead of in person, it just feels impersonal and as a former manager it is harder to maintain and keep your staff engaged.
But this is the modern workforce, and we have plenty of evidence that productivity is still there with a hybrid or remote office. When I was a manager I had to change my strategies, I had to adapt and learn, just like everything else I do in my professional life. Now that I am part of leadership but without direct reports, it’s just more adapting and learning that I am doing to stay relevant.
poor management is why all these companies are trying to force people back, it’s just people who cannot adapt.
Right, first thing I thought when I read this is “where can I get some of that ‘cheese’”
Always, always, always is.
Jebus, can you imagine being a republican right now? Remember what they used to say about the Obama cult of personality. I’m just floored.
It is obvious to anyone with a functional brain.
Doesn’t really matter though. No one thinks the court will allow immunity. What turnip has been after is delay, and the court just signaled that they have his back. Adding almost 3 more months of delay (the 2+ weeks while waiting for them to accept the case and the almost 2 months before even hearing arguments, and that’s ignoring the time it will take to render a decision). So, the “best” possible outcome is still a benefit to him, and it only gets better for him from there.
The fix is in.
ai is going to speedrun us into idocracy, isn’t it? why learn when you can ask dr. sbaitso to just do it for you?
I’m sure the “millions lost” is their theoretical earnings they are “losing” by not being able to monetize the data they collect, spy on users to determine their habits so that they can introduce features that charge for things that are standard today, loss of ad revenue, etc.
We’ve hit a point where since everything collects as much data as they can to be mined, anything that interrupts that stream is now a felony corruption of business model.
I mean, I get why people don’t like it but at the same time, no one forces you to buy one. I like Macs, I enjoy using OS X and would use it as my primary OS. I don’t because I don’t find the value proposition of their hardware worth it.
Their loss, they have a market, they just aren’t interested in it.
they also overestimate their importance to the same crowd. I mean, I use youtube a lot but as soon as I'm unable to without my adblocker in place, I'm done with the site. Already cut out several other sites that have done similar things; YouTube is big, but it's not the only time waster in town.
the fact that he's angry and feeling betrayed is the problem. we don't want a president who thinks he deserves it for himself, a president represents the people of a nation, not their own ego.
that's why I'm so angry with biden. I'm sure he thinks he's the best for the job, but read the room, have some self-reflection. sure it might be unfair to YOU personally that this is happening, but what YOU are doing to the country in response is arguably worse. I mean, I wasn't going to vote for him due to his genocide cheerleading but I'm digging my heels in even further since he's being such an obstinent fuck. if things are as dire as he's telling us, why is he and the party more concerned with an old man's feelings than the fate of this country?
