If thats true then that might actually be the most poorly worded take I've seen on Lemmy to date.

I've overwritten the image in white, Lemmy has awful ability to purge images.

Shit, I will take down the image.

I was trying to minimize her footprint whilst also allowing people to see that this is more complex than a AI generated scam, hence not further disclosing her work address, and only linking to the friendica page that you can see in all the other images on this community.

It didn't occur to me that the image would be a problem. I feel really dumb for doing that now.

My router was playing up, initially I couldn't get my phone to connect, which I thought was my fault - since I started running grapheneOS but then other devices stop connecting and then those that were connected couldn't access certain sites etc.

I still live at home, so my mum who isn't technologically literate phoned the ISP, and attempted to fix it. Turns out it just needed a reset, as the last time it had been reset was 8 years ago.

What was a surprise was that the ISP guy told my mum how many devices were connected to the internet. She found that immensely creepy.

I doubt there's anything I can do to reduce the trust burden with an ISP, beyond telling my mum to use a VPN. My threat model always had ISPs as a risk that had to be taken, however I am curious as to if there is anything at all that can be done! That's also not immensely impractical?

Comparing the two images, you can see the big PF sign in the background + the red circular roof, same ceiling and general layout. This is the same building as is shown in the Friendica pictures.

This looks like some form a harassment campaign, and it's definitely not AI. My two cents is that the pictures on friendica are screenshots from a video call, a call which given Nicole appears to work in retail, is probably not being taken on the next gen camera, and may have been on data - hence the low quality.

That all said, it's good evidence that this woman is a real person, and that the name age etc are likely fairly accurate?

I don't have explanations for the PC video call images like at all. Although one thought I did have, is that this is a pig butchering victim, and they are now using her likeness to target others? Or as blackmail?

I found the attached image after a quick search.

Yeah I only started getting them when I posted/commented

I thought it was because they are reading comments and posts that people share and spamming those people.

Had something similar on reddit a long time ago, got added to a private subreddit because they saw me comment in a community

Primeagen interviewed the creator, who basically said they chose swift because it was fun. Other languages they tried were less fun.

Forgive my ignorance, but who are the characters in this meme?

Lemmy was for while like 50% bots, which is why you see random shifts generally.

Could be something else though

You sound like a wannabe grandpa "When are my grandkids coming dear, I want to see them before I pass"

Toy production, I have one - the main use is making whatever toys I think are cool. You want more LEGO - 3D print it. You want something to throw something for your dog, 3D print it.

Admittedly those aren't use cases so much as hobbies. Occasionally you can 3D print a repair for a curtain hook or something. But everyone likes toys, even adults.
