I was a conspiracy nut for a while, (not that I believed everything, I just really wanted UFOs to be aliens lol) and a rather large conspiracy from "back in the day" was HAARP, a series of antenna in Alaska if I remember correctly. They were claiming similar things that long ago, that HAARP was responsible for weather modification and not climate change. While it was Myspace and not Facebook that was the popular thing, this didn't really spread all that far.
Maybe now that Twitter is fully right wing trash and Facebook is just as bad this might catch on more, but I kinda doubt it. Some things really are just too stupid for a large enough percentage of people to actually believe.

I'm generally a pessimistic person, but I truly believe Trump is going to win this and the heritage foundation is going to be able to implement their plan to solidify control of the government.

The entirety of all profits belong to the ownership class short of any taxation they can't get around. Those taxes will never be allowed to provide for people that "aren't productive" (read: aren't increasing the wealth of the ownership class.)

There was really only one comment in here that I think addressed what I believe to be the real issue: propaganda works. Especially when people are ignorant to how government works and have siloed themselves into realities created by their chosen propaganda outlets, refusing to look outside of them or to acknowledge their veracity.
Republicans can deny aid by the Republican speaker of the house not calling an emergency session and then Trump and Fox News can blame Biden for something he has no control over. Something similar is happening with DeSantis. I imagine the recent news about Florida being potentially a toss up state has them a bit worried so they're pushing whatever angle they can to attack Democrats.
As to why they would do this at all, I think that's kind of obvious. Power and money. The Republican party have pretty much completed their takeover of the courts and the heritage foundation can institute their psychotic wishlist (project 2025) without resistance. Winning this election means they win indefinitely.

We definitely need to keep hope, but unfortunately the way polls have worked out it's like +4 is actually -2 when the real results come in.
There was an article I read the other day about polling accuracy and they essentially said even just one week out polls are generally only 60% accurate. While I'd love to believe that gives more room for Harris, I think the more realistic scenario is that people are ashamed to admit they're voting for Trump so he's just showing lower support in polling than really exists. :(
