You're right. But the kind of immersion, the turning of the head stuff was the same back then. Elite: Dangerous is a good example for it.

Oh, "good" to know it's abandoned 😬

Welcome to 2016. Sorry :[]

Right, battery life was also a factor for me. My current fitness watch had five days max and is decaying... And I think other "premium" brand smart watches have like a day or two - that's unacceptable for me.

Great, thanks for the extensive reply. So do I get it right that I can install multiple watch faces and switch back and forth between them at any time? The fact of the vibrant community is what makes me excited in the first place. Well, I'll have to wait at least four more month 😬

I've just preordered a Pebble Time 2. Never owned a Pebble before, and no real smart wath either (just a fitness watch).

I chose Pebble because of the Open Source concept.

Do you have any advice on what I can/should do, what software/apps are must-haves, or other Tipps?

It never was. I paid around 300 DM (150 EUR) for 4MB of RAM in the nineties.

Unfortunately, valetudo is not compatible with Neato devices. There are other great initiatives, including integrating an ESP32 device. Nevertheless, even if we are able to revive the devices, I think a strong statement should be sent to Vorwerk (and others) that we don't accept behavior like this. So please sign and share, even if you are not directly affected this time!

That is one of the demands of the petition :-)

Hey guys,

I don't know if you'd count vacuum robots as smart home as well, but I guess this might be interesting: Vorwerk, owner of Neato Robotics, has closed down the cloud features for Neato Botvacs - three years earlier than they promised to.

A petition is going strong against it.

I'd be happy if you could sign and share. Even if you are not affected today, it could be a strong sign for other vendors as well...
