Right now it's currently cutting American social media out. It confuses me all the buy Canadian stuff being on an American run website.

I was wondering if there was really a good reason for CloudFlare to be used? I understand Lemmy.ca has dedicated hardware in a datacenter. Seems odd to pipe all our data through a US company as we are in a trade war.

I was planning a trip to PA and Las Vegas in 2025.

Now those have been changed to France and Amsterdam. It'll cost me much more, however I'm not going to America for the foreseeable future.

This is very exciting! I have no idea why we keep buying California Reds in Ontario when we can be drinking either Canadian wines or even old world reds from Italy or France.

So as we're all trying to cut America out of our lives at this instance, one of my soft spots is YouTube. I spend likely too much time there following different creators.

I know there are some peertube instances that exist, however looking through them they all seem very very specific to their niche. Does anyone know of a PeerTube instance that is both Canadian and 'General' content?

They're colocation in a BC datacenter. So likely not what you're looking for unless you have hardware to use, and just are looking for rack space.

Despite the Doug hate, with this being done in conjunction with other provinces it will result in billions of dollars in lost trade with the states which is what we should be excited for.

More housing is more housing.

The software is distinct from the opinions of the developer in my opinion... I mean I'm not a communist however I enjoyed playing Tetris...

So reading this correctly, it's currently a hosting bill of 30 Euro a month?

Cool, I figured it would need more resources. But I suppose scaling is tomorrows problem. :D

Hopefully we can see some uptick in engagement on the sites as well. Creating an account is the first step, however we need to build the communities.

Hello everyone,

Still trying to get used to the new setup over on Lemmy, however trying to make some new communities work. Want to get /c/ontario and /c/waterloo running with some active discussions and people. Hopefully we can make a difference. :)

Edit: I'd also love to know the hardware that you're running this on!
