I started playing ai: the somnium files a few days ago! I never knew it was a 3D game before I bought it lmao. I just finished the somnium tutorial and find the controls kind of wonky. can't really form an opinion on the game overall just yet.

I am personally strictly anti-genAI in art and media, and have already banned related content in my other communities from the get-go. But since this is an already existing community, I would also let the people decide here.

I have a few more questions regarding the rules of this community that I would like to have feedback for:

• What is the community's stance regarding generative AI in visual novels? Are you OK with it/don't care, or are you against it?

• Also (this is probably a long way off but) what is our stance regarding self-promotion? I'm personally for allowing self-promo if it's for major milestones (steam page launch, demo release, game release etc.)

There's already !adventuregames@lemm.ee for this, they explicitly include interactive fiction in their list of allowed content.

Yeah I was thinking about that, too! We just need to decide what to use 😅 Maybe we could ask the community which characters they would like to see on our banner/avatar?
