Yeah I was thinking about that, too! We just need to decide what to use ๐ Maybe we could ask the community which characters they would like to see on our banner/avatar?
also Momo cloaks, mainly because they're so darn expensive to craft :/
I'm not really an expert for otome terminology myself, thats just based on my own interpretation of the term ^^;
OK, in that case I'd be willing to take over if you agree to help out!
i used that as a short hand for games meant for self-insertion, that have a very thin MC characterization as a result. Yumejoshi is generally a term for fans who like to self/oc-ship instead of having a defined MC, so blank slate-self inserts fall into that area.
I think the only game where that kind of worked for me was mystic messenger ๐ค But thats because you have a lot of opportunities to voice your opinion there, so it felt more natural to identify myself with the MC.
- bad translation as well
- non-existent MC (aka yumejoshi games)
- LIs who constantly belittle/disrespect the MC or call her pet names (e.g. "kitten")
- tropey writing (especially that trope where the MC has to constantly get saved from random bad guys or a creep by a LI)
i meant that
Tap for spoiler
he's 18 ๐
. please dont make jokes like this
I'm not completely opposed to the idea, but I play a limited range of VNs (mainly mystery VNs and romance VNs aimed at women) despite sharing lots of news about all kinds of them^^ Having a second mod with a different perspective would help a lot with community-building I think, especially since this community was intended to serve a similar audience as the r/visualnovels subreddit, which seems to mostly like galge?
//my first impression was that this is an age-gap romance, but after looking up some info, the guy is actually way, way younger than he looks
might give this a try
I honestly have trouble coming up with specific tropes I like ๐ As long as the character has depth and is well-written (and doesn't have any of my personal squicks) then I'm game ๐ค
There's already !adventuregames@lemm.ee for this, they explicitly include interactive fiction in their list of allowed content.
