The Industrial Age which began in the late 18th century was seen as a downfall for humanity by various thinkers, writers, and critics at the time. John Stuart Mill raised concerns about the negative impacts of industrialization on society and the environment. He was spot on about the environment. I think he was probably spot on about the downfall of humanity, also.

Why listen to the radio? I guess that’s what has been lost… there wasn’t instant gratification. It was the thrill of hearing the song we loved.
I agree. The days of albums and CDs, and record stores. In the 70s we were able to go to concerts and pay for tickets using our baby-sitting money, or our allowances. We saved up for albums. We had to save up, but it was affordable. Now parents are spending thousands of dollars to get their children to concerts. Seriously? WTF??
And universal health care, and 12 months EI for parental leave after the birth of a child.
They’re not “supposedly” blue states. They ARE blue states. Their citizens voted “against” the shit show that is now the "high school council" government of the United States.
Canada has universal health care. It’s not perfect, but I will say I had a bad fall last year which required an open reduction and internal fixation on my arm. It cost me nothing, and I had excellent care.

I don’t think Ford backed down. He said he would retaliate…then Trump changed his threat (backed down). Seriously, we don’t want a full on tariff war. Just because the Canadian government isn't broadcasting: “WE JUST GOT A DEAL WITH BLAH, BLAH, BLAH”, “WE NOW ARE GOING TO DEAL WITH JOE BLOW!”, “WE ARE THE BEST!!!” This doesn’t mean we aren’t working on separating from the US, and working on other trade deals. Mark Carney is experienced and skilled in global economics. (He advised the UK against brexit). I am a firm believer in education and experience. Elbows Up! But don’t be too quick to invite a trade war.
The whole point of Trump threatening scariffs is a mind game to wear down Canada’s resolve. That won’t happen. He doesn’t need us? Apparently he does. He wants our water, and he wants our natural resources. Danielle Smith is obviously a traitor. So is PP. He’s just changed his rhetoric to garner votes.
