How is this not making the empires argument for them?
I keep pointing out to anyone who will listen that any weapon that Denmark is willing to buy in order to "build up our defenses" is not going to work against anyone who might actually shoot back. This gets a lot of laughs from the veterans in my department and a lot of angry stares by the warrior-libs.

American Christians are christians as a lifestyle brand. Anything the Bible actually says is second to what the Bible can be used to justify. If you have a pastor who quotes the Bible to justify hating LGBT people or doing domestic violence to a partner, or dropping bombs on other christians who happen to be born in another country, then you can be definition not be in the wrong, as your actions are sanctioned by God.
Joe Rogan is weirdly fascinated by the natural / stereoid debate among various fitness influencers. It's fucking odd, because Joe Rogan is one of the most credulous people in the world and somehow he takes an incredibly critical stance towards that one specific issue. Meanwhile he has hosted Jordan Peterson several times and just let him talk about chaos dragons and other bullshit for several hours with no real pushback.

It's been pretty funny watching both parties struggle with the gerontocracy, but somehow the republicans came out on top in that discussion. Like, republicans being out of touch old white men used to be a punchline on Bill Maher back in 2004 with Strom Thurmond voting on stem-cell research (he was against it, as it was too close to abortion, an issue he definitely gave a shit about).
Their job is to sit in meetings and have people speak at them, before they do whatever they want with zero mechanic for accountability. Like, if you're even the least bit sentient, why the fuck would you not stick around in that job for as long as humanly (or inhumanly) possible? It's not like the Democratic Party is trying to actually effect change, so why shouldn't the party just be a mechanism for self-righteous fossils to feel important.
