Not in the us either, but these are thought of as 'quality' foods (especially for soldiers), so its akin to them having a 'last dinner' of sorts before a deployment. Since middle east, and US has syrian (or iranian??) interests I assume its Syria (or Iran?), and that something big is aboutto go down there.

Phew, okay, I'll watch that a bit later.

And what does he have to do with Adobe stock falling?

What about the others? (I do not follow them outside Sunny - what are the others' weird takes?)

But this is not what that quote is saying.... Do you think the person who the quote is from (who survived the holocaust - who btw died in 2016) would be okay wirh another genocide? The quote is about having the means to protect yourself, not to do whats been done to you....

To put the quotes into perspective: They are from Imre Kertész, a writer who lived through ww II. Some of his most famous works are detailing his experiences from the holocaust. Of course he'd say he is happier seeing the star of david on a tank than on his concentration camp uniform. That doesn't mean he'd agree with what Israel is doing currently.

I don't feel it fair to say things like "genocide or be genocided is a really bad mindset" after reading this quote, as this is clearly not about that. Its about having the means to protect yourself. I'm fairly certain there isnt any "lets genocide everyone else" behind it....

"Are those the only 2 options? Pretty bleak worldview.." Well what do you think, why wuld someone who survived a genocide think that having the means to protect themselves would be better than being genocided?

In what world? 1k lines is a lot... Even a few hundred can take hours if everything is unknown, code is legacy, and naming is bad.

Like if there is a line like this memcpy(ptr, src, 4 * 6 * sizeof(real));

  • What's that 4?

  • What's that 6?

  • Is real a float? A double?? What are we copying, where, why???

This is a line I saw recently. 1k code is huge even if readable.

I agree with the post, but it's not a fair comparison. I wonder how much development will Chengdu have in 15 years time. Once the main public transport infrastructure exists there might not (necessarily) be a need to extend it (in 15 years time).

I'm out of the loop, crypto coin people? Is there a hexbear crypto or something?

(Title says it is from 2024, while picture has @2025, so I guess 22/01/2025 :D That darn calendar)

Love story: https://youtu.be/DF3XjEhJ40Y

Golden brown: https://youtu.be/z-GUjA67mdc

To me they sound very similar. But I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere (in the comments of either song, or on forums). While Love story is a great song it feels like it kind of just ripped of Golden brown.

Opinions?

My question is fairly straightforward: I've got wireguard set up on my home network, and I'm really happy with it, but I also got a paid VPN service as well for privacy reasons.

The paid VPN i got is Mozilla VPN (which in theory uses wireguard as well).

My goal would be that I have my own VPN through which I can access my home network, and the paid VPN on top of it, which "forwards" the outbound traffic.

Is there a way to do this? Anyone has any experience with this?
