Bojack Horseman. They managed to wrap it up in a neat-ish way, but I do believe that the show would have benefited from having one more season to delve into Bojack's issues with his father (they've covered his mother).

It's not a bad thing, isn't it. I think the goal should be that the whole world is stable enough that no one is worried about their next meal and everyone has the privilege to ruminate about gender.

Don't underestimate the amount of heads needed in ads and marketing

As a rule, I don't compare tragedies by the number of bodies, but I agree with you. It's distasteful, but it is what it is.

It reminds me of the devastating floods in Pakistan that got some attention for sure, but nothing compared to the billions of dollars that was donated within hours of the Notre Dame fire.

But he runs away and towards interesting times and dangerous situations. The most relatable hero, that man. Who wouldn't run away when confronted by the kind of things he run into.

This is starting to sound like some BDSM hijinks

Some dried fruits are notoriously good for helping bowel movement, though, just be aware.

Dios. What a dark figure saddled with a dark fate. He's basically cursed to live the same life over and over again, no wonder he's insane. I think the implication is that he created all the Djelibeybian gods, and the reason these gods existed at all were because they were the ones that were always recreated by Dios. His staff of a snake eating its own tail is apt.

Spot on. It's a good penultimate book.

Is it possibly because I came over from lemmy.world?

I do like The Last Continent! To me, the level of absurd hijinks there is about the same as Going Postal - not my favourite, but it seems to be beloved. There were more posts talking about the exploits of Moist anyway. Now, why is that? Is it the case, that Moist von Lipwig has a lot of vocal fans and Rincewind, our early hero, is not as popular anymore?

Someone compared Pterry's ability to mould language to Shakespeare, if only I remember where I heard or read this comparison.

I have recency bias with The Colour of Magic, reread it fairly recently and it's quite brilliant, although the first 10-15 pages were difficult to get through because they were somehow opaque. So many characters I just met talking to each other and about each other, and it was often unclear to me who or what they were talking about. Then Twoflower arrived and saved it.

I hope someone will give a meaningful answer, because I'm also wondering about this
