Pedophilia is a sexual attraction to prepubescent kids. It absolutely is NOT a crime. At least not in any US State that I'm aware of.
Sexually abusing minors is a crime, regardless of someone being a pedophile. In law, these things matter.

Big corporations LOVE regulations and barriers to entry. It strengthens their dominance. The little guy competing doesn't have the legal resources to keep compliant with all these accumulating laws.
Not sure. But there are tons of non-pedo heterosexual men who still have not progressed past anime girls. As much as people wished it progressed to real porn or real girls.
Things also tend to get worse when kept hidden and insulated from help. When even talking about attraction to minors is a social death sentence, or even a literal one, it really doesn't help keep people on a sexually healthy path in life.
