Wie lange funktionierte USB-A/B? Von 1996 bis 2008 gab es nicht mal was alternatives. In den 12 Jahren also völlig unverändert. Und danach? Kam erstmal etwas mit 100% Abwärtskompatibilität! Du kannst noch heute USB-Geräte von 1997 an ein Gerät mit USB-A-Buchse stecken. Es ist dann nur halt so langsam wie früher.
Typ C ist nur eine Vereinheitlichung nachdem es viele Probleme mit mini/micro in jeweils A und B gab. (gleich mit OTG und den neuen Kontakten für 3.0 bis 3.2 und Ladestandard) - wir haben also einmalig aus mindestens 8 Steckervarianten eine einheitliche gemacht. Zusäzlich gleich noch Display-Port und Thunderbolt eingebunden!
Das ersetzt nebenbei auch endlich den inzwischen recht alternden HDMI-Verbinder (eigentlich 3 Varianten) und die allgegenwärtigen Barrel-Plug Stromstecker. (mit soooo vielen Durchmessern und Spannungen - ich habe mindestens 3 Adapter-Sets und ca. 100 Netzteile dafür)
Der Standard für die Verbindung mag sich durchaus permanent ändern. Dieser Stecker aber wird uns aber für mindestens die nächsten 15 Jahre mit recht großer Verbreitung erhalten bleiben.
Das ist eben nicht nur ein Stecker für Telefone.

So if NewPipe/Sponsorblock (and of course NewPipe+Sponsorblock) are gone, then I won't use that shit anymore and don't feel any pain.
Same as with reddit. The last weeks I visited when pointed to reddit by some search enigne, but not out of "I could browse it for fun". I didn't miss anything. Twitter? Not even trying to visit that shithole anymore, since most links are unreadable anyways.

But "journalists" nowadays are full of shit and all reporting "currently there's no proof that some electric car started the fire" (always with #electriccars) - what everyone reads as "yeah, sure the electric car was it!"
meanwhile electric cars are actually LESS likely to start a fire and still nobody in the know has actually claimed electric cars had ANYTHING to do with it.
