What exactly is Snap and why does everyone hate it?

When Trump heard that the president is "the leader of the free world", he took it literally and thinks he's the ruler of the world.

He's evil. I honestly can't think of a single policy he has supported that wasn't cruel or stupid.

I switched to Bazzite for my new gaming PC and it's worked great without any major issues.

The only problem I have is that I'm still not sure how to install software that isn't through flatpak or package layering.

I'm pretty much the same as you. A lifelong Windows user who got fed up with the direction windows is going. I just recently switched to Linux for my new gaming PC and I haven't had any major issues. The only thing I still haven't figured out how to do yet is modding.

As for which distro to use, I would recommend something that comes with the graphics drivers already installed to reduce any initial setup difficulty.

I use Bazzite on my machine. It's a Linux gaming distro which comes with all the stuff you'll need to get right into gaming. It's an immutable distro so it's pretty difficult to really mess it up but it also makes things a bit more difficult to install anything that isn't a flatpak.

I'm not very familiar with LLMs. How do you install a local copy?

I was working part time as a software developer while a grad student and was assigned under a full time employee. We were the only ones working on that project. I came back after the Christmas break to be informed I was the new project lead because the full time employee i was working under got fired after he sexually assaulted one of the female employees after getting drunk at the company Christmas party.

I decided to go with an immutable distro for my first Linux gaming PC because immutable distros are as idiot proof as you can get. I like that I can't really mess anything up and if something does break, I can rollback to a previous version. I'm sure there are ways to setup rollback for other distros but I'm not a Linux person so I don't really know what I'm doing and letting Bazzite handle everything for me made it a perfect fit.

Everything has been smooth sailing with Bazzite so far.

HOAs can be really good things but have all the same problems as regular democracies, mainly voter apathy. If the members of the HOA don't keep informed about the issues in the neighborhood, don't attend meetings, and don't vote, then you very quickly end up with a few assholes gaining power and doing whatever they want.

Most of the suggestions I see in the comments would also render HOAs powerless and essentially pointless.

The problem with visiting Canada is that ICE might throw me into the gulag when I try to return.

As someone with a Kobo, Amazon's DRM is really annoying especially since a number of stories I read on sites like Royal Road publish e-books only on Amazon.

It doesn't even look that bad. I don't know what he's complaining about

I ordered a mystery box from Adagio which finally came in and was surprised at what came in. I was expecting a collection of single cup samples but instead I got several of the larger bags that can make multiple cups each.

This box contained:

  • April in Paris - .8oz
  • Blueberry Peach Gobbler Green - .5oz
  • Double Ginger Herbal - .8oz
  • Lemon Meringue Green - .5oz
  • Zodiac - aries tea - Single
  • Black Jasmine Song - Single
  • Tie Kuan Yin Black - .4oz

Since they change what they put in the mystery box each month, I might just see how to setup a monthly auto-purchase.

I picked up some new teas from a shop while on vacation and this one was pretty good. I like teas with lavender in them but I find that it's sometimes overpowering. This one had the lavender taste without it overwhelming the other flavors.

Edit: I tried to upload a picture but it wouldn't let me so I used a link to the one of the pictures on the site.

Just in case anyone is interested, Humble Bundle has a Tad Williams bundle containing 21 ebooks for $18. The offer ends in about 1.5 days. The ebooks come through kobo.com so you would require an account with kobo to redeem the ebooks.

I know there's a whole ethics thing revolving around the use of AI but I still find this sort of stuff to be amazing.

I've gone from getting tea bags at the grocery store to tea bags ordered online and just started getting loose leaf tea. I've been buying the bags and the loose tea from Stash but I was wondering where all of you get your tea.

I just tried this tea and it was very good. I'm not a big fan of cherries but I have been drinking it almost every day and like it more than the Cinnamon Black Tea I bought at the same time.
