Pretty sure a "general strike" for one day is known as a "holiday".

Sorry, but I have a hard time taking anything from this source seriously when the headline of the first internal ad it serves me is "Rise of the Leftist Groypers" and is saying opposing Isntreal is basically the same thing as being a neonazi.
What's the difference then?
one that seems to always impugn liberals and never mentions conservatives
Conservatives are just another flavor of Liberal. As leftists we oppose all kinds of Liberalism, whether it's the conservative bootstrappy kind or the Nordic welfare state model, everything that preserves the dominance of capital over people is a net evil on the world.
As to why leftists tend to criticize Democrats more than Republicans in the context of US politics: no one who supports the GOP wants a better world. Lots of people who do want a better world have been fooled into thinking that the Democrats are fighting for that better world and need to be disillusioned so that they will join the actual fight for a better world, instead of wasting their time and effort on supporting the controlled opposition.
I see someone hasn't done the reading.
Start with an easy one, work your way up to the 19th century theory.

Avoiding these nonsense parades is doing more, not less. We need reading clubs right now, not parades and direct actions. There is no vanguard party in the US and no movement that is being built into one. That needs to come first, so that next time a revolutionary moment presents itself we're in a place to do more than criticize how the Libs are mismanaging it.
