I'm a pretty big fan of the PS5 controller personally. Plays well with steam. Most games natively support button prompts for it also and for those which don't there are mods.

This might not be the case at this point as I'm mostly focused on fighting games, but for most of my life the general rule has been that officially produced first part controllers are going to be the best bang for your buck you can get as far as gamepads. You can get 3rd party controllers of equal or greater quality but very few if any at that level of quality at a competitive price point. Most 3rd party controllers marked at the price of an official controller or cheaper almost always use inferior parts and won't provide the same feedback or longevity. Unless you want to shell out for a premium custom build a current gen Xbox or Playstation controller is still likely the best option.

carries the entire arsenal but only uses two weapons

One thing I really have to hand to the Doom 2016 gameplay loop: you can tell they really worked hard to make sure you couldn't do this. At multiple points you're basically required to use every single weapon just because it's the only way you actually have enough bullets to do it.

No, there was video of him being arrested at the McDonald's circulating out there. Paraphrasing but he was pretty defiant screaming "this is an insult to the intelligence of the american people!" Et al. Taken in the context of everything else...seems pretty clear. I'm open minded to the idea that stuff was also planted and there's some shadiness....but I do think he's the guy right now.

It's the reason I initially was getting tin foil hat about whether he was a fall guy. My current best guess to explain the discrepancy is that he was basically wavering back and forth on trying to get away Scott free or fully martyr himself.

Yeah, I was cautiously skeptical from the beginning but there's way too many pieces including his statements during arrest. I'd be shocked if it somehow wasn't him at this point.

Strange for him to lie about the money of all things. Almost makes me wonder if that particular part actually was planted.

I'll do my best to respect the direction the community opts to go and I understand the reasons and stated concern...but as someone who hasn't personally done much lionizing of Mangione after his reveal, consider this my voice of dissent.

I am also disappointed that Luigi Mangione falls well short of our ideal role model as much as anyone...but ultimately we are materialists and this reaction strikes me as rather liberal and idealist. This isn't even a case where the right thing was done for the wrong reasons. Mangione's actions and motivations as outlined in his manifesto were an action of class war. As a figure he is complicated and problematic and the way he did the math completely wrong and somehow still managed to arrive at the right conclusion is quite head scratching...but ultimately I believe the words "critical support" apply here.

To be clear: the only thing being reported on is that he disputed the 10k in cash and his backpack. I'm increasingly starting to think this isn't a frame up job but afaik we have no idea what he said or did not say about the manifesto or the gun...or whether or not he was even questioned about those things in the first place.

Good post. He's not the hero we wanted or even the one we deserved...but he is the one we have and he has my critical support. Its very different of course but in some ways I'm reminded of Julian Assange and the importance of not missing the forest for the trees.

Call me crazy but I would **guess ** it would be the scene of the crime.

I just checked to verify, and assuming (someone confirm for me) it was the McDonald's, 1500 9th Avenue Station Mall, Altoona, PA 16602:

As the crow flies its 232.050 miles.

By land transport its 277.516 miles.

.....sooooooo yeaaaaah...its a stretch but it kinda works.

Edit: Hold up...depending on the route you take it Could be 277 to 290 miles.....so...yeah....

LMAO, I don't even watch Law and Order. I was making a joke. Please do inform me where I'm mistaken in anything though if you are an authority on the subject. I fully admit to lacking any sort of legal credentials or experience in law enforcement. I'm just someone with an engineer brain trying to find logical explanations or fill in gaps on things that don't make sense at first glance.

Flight risk is a definite thing but I know enough to know its also about the severity of the charges and whether the suspect presents a potential danger if released. I find it really hard to believe that him having a "ghost gun" on his person which he plausibly carried across state lines wouldn't be an important argument that they would raise. My best speculation is just that was going to be their final argument, but they didn't get to make it because the judge pounded the gavel and said (cue law and order theme) "I've heard enough. Bail is denied."

Bizarre. So basically either:

A) The state did not present those items during its request to deny bail.

or

B) They did, but nobody is reporting on what comment he did or did not make regarding them?

...that strikes me as a bit odd. Edit: Ok not a lawyer so I don't know how this works but specualtion: maybe they didn't need to? Like during this proceeding is it possible they just got bail denied purely on the money and the bag and they didn't need to present the gun or manifesto in its request because the judge was already on board before they could get to it?
