Why no tug boats to assist the vessel? I find it odd that the ship was allowed to depart on its own.

Might not be the most popular call, but streaming services.

A) movie tickets are absurdly expensive. Went for the first time in years last year and was shocked by the nearly $60 for an early morning session. Bonus though because the wifey and I were the only two at the screening (spider-verse 2). B) physical formats can cost more than 3-4 streaming services per month for just a single movie, cd, vinyl etc. Sales are still worth keeping an eye out for. C) streaming services promote choice. Your favourite movie isn’t on the service? Watch these similar themed movies. Like this song? Here’s work from similar artists. D) the other high seas streaming service is very viable if you’re discriminated against by living in a particular region or country. Or you simply can’t or don’t want to pay.

There’s definite downsides such as service saturation, the curse of too much choice, or constant garbage with the odd diamond thrown in. But if you’re not too concerned with loyalty (and you shouldn’t be) or you sail the high seas then that’s not going to be a problem.

Never seen Big Trouble in Little China?

In simplest terms, losing two or three tier 1 isp’s might do it.

I couldn’t get into the souls games themselves but fell hard for Bloodborne and Sekiro. Elden Ring has been hard to get into. The open world really detracts from the game which is disappointing because everything else is really polished.

An expired token and you get to play the game again. Sony was using this for their SEN logons and walked back the change after maybe a day (if that). The alternative was hilarious; pick out 10 different sounds only to get an error at the end.

It’s the only time I’ve ever called a support line and asked for an immediate escalation to a manager. Customers locked out of their accounts is very bad for business.

It wouldn’t have hurt if they stuck to the comic book version of events. It was only TWD in name after season one. Sure they added characters from the comic but the story was so off base by that point that I really didn’t care.

It’s so difficult for me to watch the show having read the comics.

Crazy Fun Park. It’s actually quite good but arguably not for kids. At least, in my view it’s aimed towards teenagers. I certainly wouldn’t like my kids (4 and 6) watching it.

Yep. My favourite is Hulu who is owned by NBC who in turn is owned by NBCUniversal who in turn is owned by Comcast Corporation. It’s enough to make your head spin.

Advance Publications, which owns Ars Technica parent Condé Nast, is the largest shareholder in Reddit.

Strange way of spelling buyer’s remorse.

My BIL is an immigration lawyer. People like the person in the article often come to him for help.

Forgetting the person for a moment, there’s a reason why cases like these are very important. No one wants to establish any kind of precedent where someone can be automatically deported, especially when they have dependent family in the country.

Second, just deporting someone without a consideration of where (or what) they’re going back to is something that just shouldn’t happen. You could be condemning someone to persecution or it could be as simple as sending someone back to a country they were born in but never learned the language or no longer have any connection to i.e., no family or anyone who can ensure their welfare once they get there, or even where the individual is no longer recognised as being a national (stateless).

It’s very complex and not something that I can accurately sum up in a comment (ianal), but put simply, we have a responsibility to the individual regardless of whether their circumstances are of their own doing or not.

I’m all for “toe the line” but the law just isn’t black and white. There’s plenty of scenarios under which someone can end up with a conviction recorded against them, and some of them are not exactly reasonable if it were to become a basis for deportation.

On Thursday, Twitter announced content creators would be able to get a slice of the site’s ad revenue, seemingly to encourage more creators to join the site. To be eligible, the creators must have Twitter Blue and have at least 5 million impressions on their posts in each of the last three months.

Among the creators who now get monetized off Twitter: Andrew Tate, the self-proclaimed “misogynist” online influencer, who was indicted in Romania on charges of human trafficking, rape and setting up a criminal gang.

Why do that when you can structure the platform to do it instead? It was already a cesspool but this is next level.
