That's because they are. The machine has to repeatedly manufacture consent more and more rapidly than they have ever done before to distract from the declining quality of life at home and keep the masses primed for war on the far side of the world rather than boiling over in rage at their own rulers who have robbed them. Naturally this increased pace of production of propaganda now gives us some rather unfinished products so to speak.
