Nah once deepfakes become simple enough for the majority to make, citizen-created video evidence will be worthless.

Only 'tamper-proof' sources will be trusted even when they will be tampered with.

lure creators with seemingly good offers and then start to hold them hostage in ways YouTube hasn't dared so far.

Like Smosh?

Young up and coomers, first giants on YouTube. Sold their channel and brand for stock. Then were tied to the company for years who worked them like dogs. Until the company that bought them went bankrupt so their stock was nullified and they in the end sold their company for $0.

I wouldn't say YouTube was free from it

It sounds like you wrote a book for profit then, not for the benefit of others.

F droid is an app to download or update free or open source software. If you like FOSS, you'd search it before you search the app store.

For some people, yes it can fully replace the app store. For most people, it will replace the app store on some, or maybe even most apps, but there will probably be some proprietary software you need at some point which fdroid won't have.

Only two people willing to crack denuvo games. And publicise their cracks.

Usually talent like that leads to well paying jobs, well paying jobs usually lead to wanting to not go to prison.

That doesn't mean people don't have the skill, it means they're not willing to use it, when someone else is already taking the heat

From the article

" Casey Newton at Platformer reports he has e-mail confirmation from Meta that:

[Meta is] exploring a standalone decentralized social network for sharing text updates. We believe there’s an opportunity for a separate space where creators and public figures can share timely updates about their interests (Source).

Their new app is codenamed P92, and according to a separate report by Moneycontrol:

… will support ActivityPub, the decentralised social networking protocol powering Twitter rival Mastodon and other federated apps (Source).

It will also:

be Instagram-branded and will allow users to register/login to the app through their Instagram credentials.
