People who don't like anything are incredibly boring, in my humble opinion. Imagine putting all of this effort into an essay about why other people shouldn't like the things that they like. I think a lot of people mistake being a contrarion for being an intellectual.

So I see him pretending to have answers...charismatic? Not so much.

Can't relate at all because nobody "belongs to" anyone

I knew a couple of other kids with C64s and we used to trade game disks. Half or more of the games on the disks wouldn't work or would be completely incomprehensible but there were some real gems hidden in there. I remember my mom spending hours typing in the machine code for me, as I was quite young at the time. Eventually I taught myself BASIC and made a few choose your own adventure style games that where nothing but a series of if, then, goto statements

I saw the same thing, lots of slurs being thrown around. I blocked the individual users. I'm not on either instance so I can still see both

I honestly think I'd prefer that they just let me pay them outright rather than trying to use me as bait for advertisers. The expectation that everything should be free leads to what we see today

Seriously. Talk about poking the bear, he got me pissed all over again. Never going back to reddit now.

Going to stay with Lemmy for now. I had already been looking for an alternative to reddit even before this whole fiasco and Lemmy has what I'm looking for so far.

I planted a white currant bush last year and this year it gave me a couple of handfuls. They have a fresh taste like a green grape but a bit more tart. I'm in the process of drying them now so I can use them to make some currant scones
