I agree with this, I have no problem with Lemmy.one disabling downvotes for its communities, but it's frustrating not to be able to have the option in external communities which allow downvoting.

It's almost as if giving a giant corporation unilateral control over what news our society consumes was a bad idea?

A friend of mine will deliberately not watch the last episode(s) of certain TV shows because they don't want them to end. I don't really get it personally, but I guess some people really are afraid of finishing a show because it's too good!
